One of the most important aspects
of recovering from trauma or loss is for people who
are exposed to a belief-shattering incident is to gain
timely personal support. If a support system in place
within an organization can be activated at a variety
of levels from peers, management and professional levels
the time taken to re-establish and stabilise ones life
is markedly reduced. Likewise the unnecessary emotional
upheaval that can be generated by a non-responsive support
structure can unfortunately potentially risk long-term
trauma adjustment problems for the individual or group
affected.
Our team has had extensive experience
and training in responding to individual critical incidents
(eg. Assault, Fire arms offences, Motor Vehicle Accidents,
Workplace life threatening accidents) through to major
disaster response strategies (eg. Defence Malaysian
truck and "Blackhawk" Helicopter accidents,
Thredbo Landslide, Glenbrook train disaster). To highlight
our commitment to trauma adjustment we have over the
years supported Defence, NSW Police, NSW Rural Fire
Services, Kosciusko Thredbo, Vietnam Veterans Counselling
Service and Department of Veterans Affairs.
Our proven record and service capabilities
to provide timely psychological guidance and support
to organizations (in the event of a Critical Incident)
and individual clients care while undergoing trauma
adjustment counselling has been made possible by our
specifically designed 24 hour paging service which can
be activated from anywhere in Australia.
